FAQ's about Renting Jet Skis

Panama City Beach, Florida

Do I need a boating license to ride a jet ski?

If you were born on or after January 1, 1988, and plan to operate a vessel with 10 or more horsepower, you'll need to pass an approved boater safety course. You'll also need photographic identification and a boating safety education identification card issued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. But don't worry! At our Panama City Beach locations, we offer a temporary Boater Safety certificate that's good for a whole year. You can snag your license in no time, right here.

Do you offer refunds?

Absolutely! We understand that sometimes Mother Nature can be a bit of a party pooper (boo, bad weather!) or other unforeseen circumstances might rain on your jet ski parade. In those cases, we've got your back with refunds. 👍

Do I need experience to ride a jet ski?

No worries, mate! You don't need any prior experience to join the Panhandle Watersports jet ski extravaganza. We'll provide you with top-notch instruction and a boater safety lesson, courtesy of the great state of Florida. Plus, your rental time won't kick off until you leave the beach on your jet ski, after all the instructions. So you can start your adventure with confidence!

Is it scary to ride a jet ski?

Nope! It's more thrilling than scary. You'll be in control the entire time, and it feels pretty similar to riding a 4-wheeler – except you'll be cruising on water instead of land. Take it slow at first to get the hang of it, and you'll be zipping around like a pro in no time!

How many people can ride a jet ski?

Our jet skis are usually designed for 2 riders, so you can double the fun! Plus, with multiple jet skis at each beach location, several couples can ride together and make it a party! 🎉

Can large groups ride at the same time?

Absolutely! Reserve your tickets online, and then give us a call when you're in town. We'll help you plan the perfect day, time, and location for your group's jet ski adventure.

Is there a weight limit for each jet ski?

Per the manufacturer's recommendation, each jet ski can handle up to 350 pounds of fun-seeking riders!

Is there an age limit for jet ski riders?

To rent a jet ski, you must be 18 or older. But don't worry, young thrill-seekers! You can drive solo at 16 or ride along with someone 16 or older at any age.

Where do I go to take the boater safety course?

You can complete the boater safety course at any of our jet ski rental booths, conveniently located right on the beach behind Panama City Beach Resorts. It takes about 30 minutes to finish, and you'll be ready to hit the waves safely! 🤙
